School Trip Chaperone Day 206

Once again, I find myself thanking God for the gift of free time. For the first time in my life, I chaperoned my granddaughter Jillian`s first grade trip to the local apple orchard and farm. Maybe a little explanation is due, I never had biological children; I am the stepmother of two and the grandmother of 4, actually just Mimi to the grandbabes.

There is such wonder and love from grandchildren, I will always be their parents stepmother, but to Jillian, Nolan, Ricky and Oliver, I`m just Mimi. Ephesians 5:1 Be imitators of God, therefore as dearly loved children and live a life of love, just as Christ loved us and gave himself up for us as a fragrant offering and sacrifice to God. Thank you, God.

Jillian was just as excited to see me as I was to be there, the day was picture perfect. When I arrived at school they were beginning the day, with the pledge of allegiance to the flag, of course there was no Lord`s Prayer! This is so disheartening to me, but we have to be politically correct!

When we arrived at the orchard, our group was first to enjoy the hayride tour. Our guide asked for cooperation and attention, as she told the children facts about the orchard. We would soon exit to pick our own "Pink Lady Apple."

These young first graders are so eager to learn. I surely felt the Godly nudge to pray for them but......if I had prayer out loud would have happened? Would I be thrown off the hay wagon, never allowed to chaperone again. Thrown in jail, escorted from the orchard by the anti-praying police. Shame on us; remind me again why we have to be politically correct!

I silently, bowed my head and ask God to bless, care and protect these wonderful children throughout their precious lives. God knew the discomfort and pain that I was feeling, honoring politically correctness.

Number 10:35-36 "Rise up, O LORD! May your enemies be scattered; may your foes flee before you." Whenever it came to rest, he said, "Return, O LORD, to the countless thousand of Israel.

Jillian`s mom called to thank me for the day, she told me she was going to school this week for the Fall Celebration, which will be followed in December by the Holiday Celebration, give me a break! It`s Christmas, a time of celebration because JESUS CHRIST WAS BORN!

I pray that God will give voice to this blog, to help change HIS removal from our public school, our lives and the lives of the next generations. I SHOULD HAVE SCREAMED OUT TO HIM, TODAY IN ANGUISH! Forgive me, Lord.

Psalms 106:6-10 We have sinned, even as our fathers did; we have done wrong and acted wickedly. When our fathers were in Egypt, they gave no thought to your miracles; they did not remember your many kindnesses, and they rebelled by the sea, the Red Sea. Yet he saved them for his name`s sake to make his mighty power known. He rebuked the Red Sea, and it dried up; them he led them through the depths as through a desert. He saved them from from the hand of the foe; from the hand of the enemy he redeemed them.

DO WE REALLY KNOW HOW MUCH GOD LOVE US????????? I would graciously enjoy your thoughts, please share!!!!

  1. You really posed a tough question. We would like to think we know how much God loves us but can we really comprehend the depth of God's love? His love is without measure.

I think the average person tries to measure love by what people say, do and give. The Lord goes way beyond that. Jesus went to the cross and dies for us. There is no greater love!!! How many of us are willing to lay down our life for complete strangers as He did.

I think the AGAPE love that God shows is so much more then any love we could ever imagine.

We could also talk about being politically correct or do something about it. I understand where you are coming from because none of us want to end up oin jail and we do want to be able to do things with our children and grandchildren in there schools. But, I also think it keeps us in a comfort zone. We are instilled with a fear of speaking out because of the reprecussions in this mixed up society we now live in. If you looked at my facebook page you had to see the cutest little five year old and the beautiful three year old curly haired blond. These my babies that God has blessed Emi and I with. And I would hate to be banned from their schools. But what would the world be like now if Jesus was politically correct? Or Paul, John, etc. Although they new the consequences they never backed down from what the spirit was leading them to do.

I guess I better quit rambling on. I probably already said more than I should have.

May God bless you and continue to use you in a bold but loving way. Keep up the good work of the Lord.

    Your friend in Christ,
    Don
