I thank God for Billie`s continued recovery, I first met Billie at church when he shared his amazing testimony of recovery from drug abuse. He had successfully completed the Teen Challenge recovery program; now back to reality and life at home.
Home sweet home, a wonderful place but not the ideal place for recovery to continue; we are thrusted back into reality of our not so perfect lives. We have changed but what about our surroundings? Like many Billie, slipped gradually back into old habits.
Billie continued to reach out, knowing that the peace and comfort he needed would only come from Jesus; however held in bondage by his addiction. One Sunday, God nudged me to go to Billie, requiring me to encourage and lift him in prayer. I continued to reach out to Billie trying to make that Godly connection that he so desperately needed.
The healing that Billie required would take months and months, he moved from home to get a fresh start. Only God knew Billie` true needs, I continued to pray for him. Thank you God for the "Do-Overs" and your unconditional love!
Today, clean and drug free Billie sat in front of me at church. Thank you, God, thank you, God. Of course I had to congratulate him and pray with him. Only God knows the plans he has for Billie; will Billie continue to make wise chooses and listen to God, that will certainly be my prayer for my young friend, Billie.
Was it a co-inky-dink that Billie sat right in front of me today, or was that one of my favorite God-winks! Thank you, Father!
Psalm 42:1-2 As the deer pants for streams of water, so my soul pants for you, O God. My soul thirst for God, for the living God. When can I go and meet with God. Amen!

Reflections Week 34
What a busy week, Emmaus weekend was positively amazing, but it drained me to the core. This week has been a time of rest and restoration.
Busy taking Rick to and from doctor visits and therapy appointments. Please continue to pray for his healing, diabetes slowing down recovery.
This week was filled with family, friends, love and "THANKS" giving! Thank you, Father for your continued love and support!
Psalm 106:1 Praise the Lord. Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good; his love endures forever.

Follow-Up Required Day236
In the pasted 2 days God has tenderly reminded me that ministering is not a one time event; both Jo and Elva were in need of follow-up visits. If you are new to this blog adventure, you can read their stories on day 222 and day 226.
Once again we were off to the Farmer`s Market for veggies and our seafood treat for the week. Our friend Jo waited on us, she continued to thank us, by name, for the kindness and prayer that we had offered for her on our last visit.
There was something very different about the way Jo responded to us; she had a warm content smile. She lovingly reached out as she touched my shoulder, graciously thanking me again for praying with her.
We exchanged tales of Thanksgiving festivities, she shared information about her children and grandchildren. Had God used the opportunity of Jo`s misfortune to open the door for continued witnessing! How many times do we over look these windows of opportunity?
Isaiah 55:6 Seek the Lord while he may be found; call on him while he is near.
I believe that God has opened the door to Jo`s heart, allowing friendship and trust to blossom for His glory. I will be obedient to His call to witness to Jo!
Later in the day I arrived at our local store, Elva was outside for a cigarette break, this was the first time I had seen her since our talk many days ago. It was obvious that she had`nt been successful in her attempt to quit smoking. Immediately she started to make excuses for her failure. I assured her that it was really ok, I`m not the cigarette police. However, I certainly knew how she was feeling, it took me many failed attempts to quit drinking.
I tried to encourage her, suggesting that it just wasn`t the right time! Perhaps after the holiday would be a better time. As we continued talking she inquired about where I went to church. Elva is definitely seeking and looking for something that she observes in me. Thank you, God!
She confessed that she didn`t even have a bible or a cross in her home! I just happened to have an extra bible, some books, CD`s and a small wooden cross that I thought Elva might enjoy. She tearfully accepted these gifts. Again, God provided the perfect time for us to pray, as we held hands and bowed our heads.
Isaiah 50:4 The Sovereign Lord has given me an instructed tongue, to know the word that sustains the weary. He wakens me morning by morning, wakens my ear to listen like one being taught. Amen

ASAP Day 235
ASAP, as soon as possible, how many times have you heard that in your lifetime! As a society, it seems that we are constantly running out of time, rushing to meet the demands on our lives. Rush, rush, rush, wonder what Jesus thinks about our self-inflected madness; what would He do?
Perhaps, Jesus would suggest a different approach for ASAP,-- always-- stop-- and-- pray!
Luke 22:39-41 Jesus went out as usual to the Mount of Olives, and his disciples followed him. On reaching the place, he said to them, "Pray that you will not fall into temptation." He withdrew about a stone`s throw beyond them, knelt down and prayed.
If it were necessary for Jesus to stop and pray, what does that say to each of us! We were created in His image, does that invite us to do as He did? You better believe it! But, what if you were like me, and you just don`t know how to pray.
Our heavenly Father desires to have a personal relationship with each and everyone of us; so where and how do we begin! Address Our heavenly Father, praise Him, prayer request, and give thanks in the name of Jesus.
Pray to God, just like you are talking to your "best friend"; as you become more and more confident in your prayer life the Holy Spirit will direct your thoughts and words.
Psalm 88:1-2 O Lord, the God who saves me, day and night I cry out before you. May my prayer come before you; turn your ear to my cry.
Father God, I thank you for the beauty of this day, thank you for this season of love, thanks giving and blessings. Father, I thank you for the thunder of the foot steps and screams of joy of my grand babies, Nolan, Jillian and Ricky as they spend time with us. Thank you, for your gift of time.
Father, I lift up Jay and his entire family, John, Phillip, Brenda and Hanna, Father, you know their needs, bless and bring your healing graces into their lives. I pray in the name of Jesus, Amen!
Acts 1:8 But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witness in Jerusalem, and all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.

"THANKS"giving Day 234
I am thankful to God for all that I am, made in His image, called to be the "hands and feet of Jesus." That comes with huge responsibility! Matthew 5:14 "You are the light of the world". A city on a hill cannot be hidden.
Are you taking action and allowing your light of JESUS to shine, in your life, your family, your community, and your world! One act of love and kindness can make a difference in "someones" world.
This day of "thanks"giving, began many years ago because the Pilgrims of this country stopped and gave "Thanks;" they suffered, struggled and lost many lives that first year. They remained faithful, with a sincere attitude of gratitude they "GAVE THANKS PRAISE AND GLORY TO GOD"!
Remember, what and who this great county of ours was built on! God is calling us to step up and defend His honor and glory! We can do this, "Transforming the World One Prayer at a Time." Thank You, Jesus! Be a blessing, enjoy this season of 'THANKS GIVING."
Matthew 22:37-39 "Jesus replied: "Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind." THIS IS THE FIRST AND GREATEST COMMANDMENT. And second is like it: "Love your neighbor as yourself." Amen!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1

God-friends Day 233
Today I had lunch will one of my new God-friends; you might ask what defines God-friends? For me, God-friends are those planted in our life by God, for specific reasons, seasons or perhaps a lifetime to teach us valuable life lessons. There is a special bond that elevates this friendship to a divine level of love, trust, compassion and spiritual connection. The magnificence of this friendship could have only been orchestrated by our heavenly Father. Thank you, God.
I met Joyce, last November when I was doing my Little Debbie job, she was shopping in Food Lion, our smiling eyes met, and we struck up a conversation. We did the normal, "how are you," she comment that I had a special glow. I shared that I was attending an upcoming Emmaus weekend, maybe that enhanced my glow. I briefly explained what the weekend was about.
We parted ways, then suddenly she returned, prompted to get my name and address! This time God lead both of us to pray, how amazing is that, God brings total strangers together in a grocery store; then directs them to bond in prayer!
Psalms 17:6 I call on you, O God, for you will answer me; give ear to me and hear my prayer.
Over the past year my friendship with Pastor Joyce has continued to blossom, imagine that she`s a pastor, really God! She invited me to attend a Renewal of Faith Day, that she held in her church. I know that God used this day as a time of nurturing, teaching and personal growth.
I was nudged by God to sponsor Joyce on the Walk To Emmaus, perhaps this will connect her entire congregation to the Emmaus community; only God knows! I have been obedient to His gentle nudge; I will patiently wait for His perfect time for Joyce to attend her walk.
Today we enjoyed spending girl time together, she shared with me how she was called into the ministry. What a blessing to spend time with my God-friend, Pastor Joyce. Of course, Joyce is always ready to pray with and for me; you can never have too many prayer partners!
What else have I learned from God-friends; you can`t take life for granted, we have a loving forgiving God. Through Jesus, all things are possible, in loving memory of a friend, I walked 39 miles, twice. A caring hand on my shoulder and the words, "Don`t you dare, you`re doing to good," removed my desire to pick up that next drink. Compassion is a gift, it`s not my job to fix anyone! It is my job to love as Jesus loved!

John 15:12-15 My command is this: Love each other as I have loved you. Greater love has no one than this, that he lay down his life for his friend. You are my friends if you do what I command. I no longer call you servant, because a servant does not know his master`s business. Instead, I have called you friends, for everything that I learned from my Father I have made known to you.

Refections Week 33
What a week, good thing that I`m buckled up tight and ready for the ride! This week God has allowed me to reach out and share many experiences of my personal journey.
Flash backs of pain, love and joy, as I exposed my inner soul for God`s Glory! Testimonies, the willingness to witness to one another, no matter the cost of personal discomfort.
Thank you Jesus, for leading the way and lighting in me the flame; leading me to the your river of eternal love.
Ezekiel 47:9 Wherever the river goes, every living creature that swarms will live, and there will be very many fish, once these waters reach there. It will become fresh; and everything will live where the river goes. Amen.

Walk 53A FRIENDS OF GOD Days 228-232
After weeks and weeks of preparation, on Thursday evening God joined 55 women and one male pastor in bonds of love, never to be broken. As sisters in Christ, we will be forever changed.
One by one, as we were invited into the opens arms of Jesus, we were misted with gentle showers of love and acceptance. Of course, with the beginning of any new journey, there was anxious anticipation of what was to come. Some had faces of joy while others had the "deer in the headlight" look; "what in the world has my sponsor gotten me into?"
As the weekend progressed, Jesus continued to trickle though our souls, flooding our darkness with His ever present Light of renewal. Our weekend together was a divine time of His glorious presence. Together we shared prayers, love, hurts, pain, healing, release, acceptance and joy, filling that God-shaped hole in each of us. God chose each and everyone of us by name, to receive His flood and waves of love.
The faces and memories of the weekend will saturate my existence as I continue this walk on earth! Oh, what a joyous reunion Heaven will be! Thank you, Jesus. Remember, I AM A FRIEND OF GOD! AMEN........
Galatians 4:6 And because you are children, God has sent the Spirit of his son into our hearts, crying, "ABBA! FATHER!" SO YOU ARE NO LONGER A SLAVE BUT A CHILD, AND IF A CHILD THEN AN HEIR, THROUGH GOD.

Martin Day 227
Yes, I finally got my closest cleaned out, I have way too much stuff! Off to Clauvaux Farm, they have a resale barn for donations. I was greeted by Martin one of their current residents, that receives great joy from his job organizing "The Barn."
Today I spent quality time with Martin, I have seen him at our church, he has recently joined our praise band. Martin is so delightful to watch as he shares his God-given musical talents; his face is aglow with the light of Jesus. Until today I didn`t even know his name.
Martin was in need of someone to talk with today, I thank God that I was blessed to be in just the right place, at just the right time. I listened as he poured out his pain-filled heart to a stranger; but a sister in Christ.
I can only image of devastation of being homeless and depressed, as we approach this season of Thanksgiving and the Birth of our Savior. I tried to assure Martin that he is a cherished child of God, loved, treasured and here on earth for the Glory of God. I thank God for the gift of love, as I mentored his "temporarily" lost sheep.
Martin invited me inside the barn to show me the blessings of his labors. What a great job of sorting and organization. God allowed this time for continued conversation and encouragement; tears flowed from Martin`s eyes as he shared his overwhelming distress. Patiently, I listened allowing the Holy Spirit to prompt my comments.
Prayer was defiantly in order, Martin and I shared a God-directed hug of love and compassion! There was a twinkle in Martin`s eye as we parted! Thank you, God for allowing me to be a blessing!
Psalm 32:10 Many are the ways of the wicked, But the LORD`S unfailing love surrounds the man who trust in Him! Amen!!!!!!!!
Off for the rest of the weekend to serve on team for "Walk To Emmaus," I am so excited! Back at the keyboard on Monday; blessings, have a fantastic weekend!

Witness Wednesday Day 226
Busy day on the praying home front. Isaiah 6:8 Then I heard the voice of the Lord saying."Whom shall I send? And who will go for us?" And I said, "Here am I, Send me!" Just moments from my house, I visited our local store to pick up the morning paper.
Even though Elva has waited on me before, we never exchanged more than a casual hello, thank you and goodbye. Today God surely had me on a mission! Out of the blue, I soon found myself, having the perfect moment to witness to her what God has done in my life. Elva shared that she was trying to quit smoking cigarettes, she has tried unsuccessfully many times.
God`s timing was perfect, I seized the moment to share with Elva my personal struggles with my alcohol addiction and my near 5 years of successful abstinence. Thank you, God!
We remained the only 2 in the store as I continued to share heartfelt compassion and empathy for the desire to rid herself of the tobacco addiction. She also confessed that even though she was raised Catholic, attended Catholic school, she now found herself questioning her faith in God. Years of pain and loss had produced uncertainty on her faith. Tears gently flowed.
I told her my story of my friend Karen`s death and the effects it had on my life; how God had taken this tragedy and allowed me to witness and reach out to others in need. While drawing me into an intimate relationship with Him; allowing me to testify for His amazing Glory!
Psalm 8:1-2 O Lord, our Lord, how majestic is your name in all the earth! You have set your glory above the heavens. From the lips of children and infants you have ordained praise because of your enemies to silence the foe and the avenger.
Elva and I held on to one another in a tearful heartfelt hug, then we prayed! I gave her my phone number, encouraging and promising to assist her in desire to conquer her cigarette addiction. Tomorrow is a new day!
Proverbs 3:27 Do not withhold good from those who deserve it, when it is in your power to act. Amen!

Step Up Day 225
What a busy morning, filled with shared prayers, first Lori, then Pam, Sandy and Debbie. Morning prayers where filled with normal everyday stuff, until my conversation with Debbie;in the course of our conversation, she reminded of her friend Karen`s son.
Debbie first introduced me to Karen, as she was working on a fundraiser in support of a friends daughter, that recently died from cancer. Several years later Karen and her family are now facing the same challenges that she help her friend get through.
Karen`s young college age son, Joseph was diagnosed a rare form of bone cancer, Metastatic Ewing`s Sarcoma. Joseph has gone from an active baseball loving athletic college student, to a cancer patient, at bat for his life. He attended college on a baseball scholarship; continuing in his major, Kinesiology and a graduate degree in Biomechanial Engineering.
Debbie has taken it upon herself to support her friend`s son with prayer request. Debbie has baseballs that Joseph used, in his healthy baseball batting practice days, she is requesting that people sign the ball and agree to lift Joseph and his family up in prayer. Praying for God`s greatness to come through as Joseph faces the game of his life.
I`m assuming, that you read this blog because of your love for God and how prayers effect our everyday lives. This is where I need your help; visit http://www.stepuptotheplateforjoseph.com/ read all of his story. If you feel lead, please pray for Joseph, remember God does`nt expect us to be perfect, He just expects us to be faithful.
I spent time today lifting Joseph and his family up to our Heavenly Father in prayer. I`ve never met Joseph, but I personally know the pain that he and his family are facing. Please pray to God for Joseph.
I welcome your prayers and comments. It will be a blessing to put your initials on the ball that I have for Joseph, then send it to him. Please pray!!!!!!!!!
Ephesians 3:20-21 "Now to Him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to His power that is at work within us, to Him be all the glory in the church and in Jesus Christ throughout all generations, for ever and ever! Amen."

Final Emmaus Team Meeting Day 224
How quickly ten weeks of preparation has passed, Thursday night we will begin the next Woman`s Walk To Emmaus. Our team has come together, lead by the Holy Spirit, forming bonds of love and friendship. We previewed talks, planned meals and covered all details for the weekend; we are set and ready to perform all tasks that are laid at our feet. We are eager to be the hands and feet of Jesus for 72 hours. Thank you, God for selecting this devoted group of women.
James 1:9 The brother in humble circumstances ought to take pride in his high position.
Today, as the entire team came together I got to visit with my friend Alice. Alice and I served on team together last year; on that walk we witnessed a divine miracle healing. Months earlier, Alice had lost her voice, she could only speak in a whisper. Doctors were unable to diagnose the cause of her problem, they gave her some type of treatment that gave temporary restoration of her voice; leading to additional treatment when necessary.
Alice was prepared to deliver her talk, with her whisper of a voice. As is customary before the talk, 2 team members pray with each speaker. I happened to be one of the praying team members. We prayed that God would allow Alice to deliver His words, that her voice would be strong enough to complete her task.
Alice began her talk in the strained whisper, however during her presentation her voice got stronger and stronger and stronger. Tears of joy flowed as she make it to the end of her assigned talk. I was sitting on the edge of my seat, I could hardly believe my ears. As I am writing this today, I have Holy Spirit goose-bumps, as I recall this incredible miracle!
Today, Alice's voice was as strong as mine, she hasn`t had any treatments! Thank you, God! What a wonderful reunion.
Proverbs 3 :5-6 Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your path straight.

Reflection Week 32
WOW, only 20 weeks to go, I am getting closer and closer to my goal of blogging for one year. Am I really supposed to stop at the end of my year; I hope not, but this is God`s blog, He is in control, I`m just the cracked-pot at the keyboard.
This week I experienced the pure joy of the Lord, concern for injustice, guidance and a grateful heart for my love for my heavenly Father.
Ruth 2:10 At this, she bowed down with her face to the ground. She exclaimed, "Why have I found such favor in your eyes that you notice me----a foreigner?

Beautiful Fall Day Day 223
Fall is one of my favorite seasons of the year, ushering a fresh crispness that soon delivers us into the long chilly winter. I would have a difficult time living somewhere that doesn`t host the four varied seasons, winter, spring, summer and fall; thank you, God.
Daniel 2:21 He changes times and season; he set up kings and disposes them. He gives wisdom to the wise and knowledge to the discerning.
I seem to be in a season of discernment, where does God really want me, what does He have planned? I`m assuming that as I get closer to my 60th birthday, it adds a sense of urgency. Maybe, I`m just to hung-up on the big six zero birthday; do I just need to focus more energy on praying and listening to God.
Psalm 119: 125 I am your servant; give me discernment that I may understand your statutes.
Father God, thank you for the beautiful day, thank you for loving me, thank you for my wonderful family and friends. Thank you for placing me in the midst of the faith filled, loving Emmaus community. Thank you for this blog, where I can just sit down and chat with YOU.
Psalm 106:1 Praise the Lord. Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good; his love endures forever.

That Is Really Rude! Day 222
Rick and I have spent more quality time together, in the past three and one half months than we have, in our entire 22 years together. I thank God, for this delightful gift of time. Even though, Rick is recovering from 2 surgeries, our time together has been a time of learning and strengthening! I will also admit, that we have both gotten on one another last nerve! How do retired couples make this adjustment of abundant time together? I`m sure we`ll figure it out, in due time.
Today we visited our local Farmers Market, to pick up fresh fruit and veggies, and to have an early dinner. For years we have gone to Alex`s Seafood, yummy stuff; what we experienced today was very sad. We were served by Jo, a pleasant hard working young lady.
Until today, we didn`t even know Jo`s name, even though she has waited on us many times. I believe that we were customers on her first day at Alex`s less than one year ago. Jo has always been very pleasant and does a great job.
Today, two middle aged women did something that made our hearts ache for Jo. These women were seated close to the front of the restaurant, they seized just the right moment, to make their non-bill paying exit. Leaving Jo responsible to cover their $40 tab. Jo went from bubbly smiles to frowns of disbelief!
Jo, questioned us, Rick saw the two ladies exit, having no idea what they had just done to her. We could hardly believe what these women had done. How long will it take Jo to cover this tab, is she the sole bread winner of her family, did these women think that it was Jo responsibility to buy them food? So many questioned flooded my mind!
I asked Jo if I could pray with her, I stood and shared a warm loving embrace, as I began to pray. Jo held on to me, in a comforting caring time of solace; she gently wept as I prayed. She thanked me, saying that I was indeed God-sent! What a blessing to reach out to someone in need. Thank you, God.
As Rick paid our bill, I was please to see that God had truly prompted both of us, to continue to reach out in love to Jo, with additional funds in her tip. Perhaps our love and kindness will outweigh the pain that two women had inflicted on her. I pray that Jo, will focus on our love and compassion, forgiving the sinful nature of her rude customers.
Thank you God, for placing us in just the right place, at just the right time; thank you for tuning-in our listening hearts and ears!
Ephesians 4:32 Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you.

Answered Prayers Day 221
Today I had an early morning chat with my niece, Kim; what an incredible difference years of prayers have made in her life! As I shared on Day 188, Kim and I were both in bondage, held hostage by our generational family roots of addiction.
Acts 12:5 So Peter was kept in prison, but the church was earnestly praying to God for him.
I humbly thank everyone, who has prayed for Kim and I though out our lives! I thank God, for many friends and family, as we prayed Kim though the most difficult time of her life.
2 Timothy 225-26 Those who oppose him he must gently instruct, in the hope that God will grant them repentance leading them to a knowledge of the truth, and that they will come to their senses and escape from the trap of the devil, who has taken them captive to do his will.
How many of our friends and family members need to escape from the TRAP of the devil. It takes truth and honesty to spring that trap of bondage!!!!!!! I am blessed to share, that a third member of our family, is currently celebrating her life in sobriety, my great-niece, Renae.
Today, Kim was to share her testimony, in front of a group of 50 some nurses at a hospital in her hometown. My eyes filled with tears of joy! I asked that she forward me a copy of her talk. Aunt Linda, how can I do that? I`m speaking for 30 minutes from my heart, it not written out, it`s my life story! Our blessings from God, and how He choses to use us, are more than my little pea-brain can fathom!
In my amazed state, I asked Kim how she was going to do this! With confidence, she reminded me of our visit this summer, when I attended a group meeting with her. Remember how nervous and anxious I was, about speaking in front of this group, and you prayed with me? More tears, yes! I got up in front of that group with God`s confidence and peace, because of your prayer.
I`m going to pray, just like you did! Get the tissue!!! Thank you God, thank you, God. At exactly 12:30, when Kim was scheduled to begin her testimony, Rick and I were hand in hand, praying to God on Kim`s behalf.
Kim, is making plans to spend time with her niece, Renae. I am aware of 5 generations of addiction in our family, two before me, two after me. HOPE is now alive and well in 3 generations, first there was one, then two, now three! Strength in numbers, together we can stand firm and spring that trap of addiction for future generations! ALL THANKS AND GLORY TO GOD THE FATHER, AMEN!
Exodus 20:4-6 "You shall not make for yourself an idol in the form of anything in heaven above or on the earth beneath or in the waters below. You shall not bow down to them or worship them; for I, the LORD of your God, am a jealous God, punishing the children for the sin of the fathers to the third and fourth generations of those who hate me, but showing love to a thousand generations of those who love me and keep my commandments."

Friend Day 220
Now that I`m enjoying the blessings of free time, thank you God, I`ve fallen into a peaceful morning routine. Morning prayer with my friend Lori, as she visits before starting her work day, check email, visiting friends on Facebook, prayer before writing this blog.
For years, as I was rushed out the house on a daily basis to get to work, I rarely give the computer a second glance. Friends will tell you, that if they really wanted to get in touch with me, they would have to pick up the phone; person to person, no texting.
Guess what, God had a different plan, He knew that I needed to be connected. As I navigate His blog, He has shown me that I have lifetime of experiences that He wants me to share with the world. This cracked-pot had to surrender, technology rocks!
Isaiah 64:8 Yet, O Lord, you are our Father. We are the clay, you are the potter; we are all the work of your hand.
If God and I were friends on Facebook, what would He want to tell me? I am His child, I have been redeemed and forgiven of all of my sins, He is a friend who sticks closer than a brother, Jesus displays his unlimited patience as an example for those who believe and receive eternal life, love each other as I have loved you, if you judge others you condemn yourself, walk with the wise, pride breeds quarrels, wisdom is found in those who take advice!
HE calls me friend, I am a FRIEND OF GOD!
Psalm 63:3-5 Because your love is better than life, my lips will glorify you. I will praise you as long as I live, and in your name I will lift up my hands. My soul will be satisfied as with the richest of food......................Amen!

Let the Healing Begin Day 219
Today, I met with my friend Laura to begin reviewing our MacNutt Healing Ministry program; so much incredible information. The more Laura and I talk the more we realize, where God has been leading both of us; sure there are areas where we both need continued healing. The great benefit of this ministry, is that it allows for deep inner healing, as we prepare to help others. You know how God works out the details!
Psalm 28:6-7 Praise be to the Lord, for he has heard my cry for mercy. The Lord is my strength and my shield; my heart trusts in him, and I am helped. My heart leaps for joy and I will give thanks to him in song.
Where, when and how, we are going to be lead into this ministry has yet be revealed; God has chosen 2 willing eager servants for His glory.
Year after year I stuffed hurts, pain, shame, guilt and brokenness, deeper and deeper into the dark pits of my soul. Having little or no control, when they would surface, ushering in stress, discomfort and a lack of self-confidence. Slowly, flinging open the doors of my soul to self medication with alcohol!
Romans 8:20 Now if I do what I do not want to do, it is not longer I who do it, but it is sin living in me that does it.
Thank you God, for hearing our cries of brokenness; Laura and I closed our afternoon, in prayer!
Psalm 52:10-12 Create in me a pure heart, O God and renew a steadfast spirit within me. Do not cast me from your presence or take your Holy Spirit from me. Restore to me the joy of your salvation and grant me a willing spirit, to sustain me.

Sunday Day 218
No wonder God had me rest on Saturday, today was nonstop! I attended 2 church services, prayed with church family; rushed home for lunch, then off to Emmaus team meeting.
Yes, along with the rest of our team, I was anointed and prayed for by our pastors. When asked my prayer request for the upcoming weekend, "I desire to share when needed, and to be a blessing for the glory of God"!
On the move once again, to attend the closing ceremony for the Emmaus Walk that was held this weekend, the church was packed. As I walked up the center isle to receive communion, I spotted a familiar face. A face that I hadn`t seen in many years, actually decades; was it really Carol?
Yes, thank you God, she was indeed Carol, a friend of my youth. After a gentle shoulder tap and identity check, two long lost friends shared a long over due embrace.
We exchanged contact info and agreed to get together, so that we could catch up. I`m embarrassed to admit that she reminded me of her son, my God child! No, no, no I had truly forgotten, so many years had passed, divorce, my own family secrets, and addiction, had my life been so distracted that I didn`t even remember this special honor.
Have I failed as a Godmother, maybe God arranged this special reunion, in church, allowing me time to pray and ponder how to handle this situation. However, before getting out of bed this morning, God reminded me of my niece Mandy, children of friends, Jason, and Ginger, other God-children that I`ve neglected or lost contact with. What are the obligations of a God-mother?
What had these friends and parents of years ago, seen in me? Something that I didn`t even know was there? Something that I didn`t allow to surface and inhibited growth? Had my God-given free will, allowed me to smother this God fire that friends saw in me?
Now, God what do I do, pray, pray, pray, sounds like the right place to start! There is still time to correct this terrible neglect on my part...........this is heavy! Thank you God, for loving me through the tough times in my life and rekindling that intense fire of desire for YOU.
Matthew 28-19 Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the every end of the age.

Reflections Week 31
As I review this week and where God has lead me, I thank Him for His perfect timing for our earthly lives! I thank Him for tuning in my listening ears and heart!

Saturday, A Lazy Day Day 217
Saturday was a lazy, kicked back sort of day, nowhere to go, a nothing to do day! There was a time when I would have felt guilty for wasting time, but that too has passed, thank you, God.
Ecclesiastes 2:11 Yet when I surveyed all that my hands had done and what I had toiled to achieve, everything was meaningless, a chasing after the wind; nothing was gained under the sun.
Rick and I enjoyed our nothingness(is that a word?) day, as we shared our morning coffee. We relaxed in the comfort of our bedroom, sipping java, reading the morning paper, then finding a movie to fill our morning.
The movie drew us back to our childhood and a part of history that we had both witnessed first hand! The movie was about the early presidency of president Kennedy; at the time I was, eleven attending Cecilton Elementary School. The movie reviewed our history, a time when our world was flirting with the possibility of nuclear war.
Rick and I shared our anxiousness and fear that we felt during this time; we both recalled school drills that were practiced, if there was such as disaster! Hello, do you really think, lining up in the hallways or hiding under your desk would have saved our lives! I guess there had to be some sort of plan.
I thank God that this disaster was diverted, ultimately saving our world for future generations! I thank God, for the wisdom and courage that our world leaders choice to follow.
I thank God, that in Cecilton Elementary School and schools around the world that we started our day with the Lord`s Prayer....Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name, your kingdom come, YOUR WILL BE DONE on earth as it is in heaven...........................thank you, Father, Amen................

Kindly, Step Aside! Day 216
This morning before my feet hit the floor, the sun rose in the east, announcing the dawn of a new day; this evening the moon will shine and the stars with garnish the evening sky. Did I have to worry about the sun, stars or the moon, taking their places, fulfilling their God given purpose?
Nope, that`s not my job! Thank you God, for the amazing things that you do for us, each and every second of everyday! All that God requires of us is to kindly step aside, receive His grace through faith, trust, obey and let Him do what He does best, love and care for everyone of his children!
Ecclesiastes 1: 3-6 What does man gain from all his labor at which he toils under the sun? Generations come and generations go, but the earth remains forever. The sun rises and the sun sets, and hurries back to where it rises. The wind blows to the south and turns to the north; round and round it goes, ever returning on its course.
For the past several years, God seems to be leading me toward some type of praying, healing, caring ministry. To say the least, that`s what I think He might be doing; dah, maybe that`s why I`m writing! He has definitely put me in just the right spot, at just the right time, allowing me to meet, just the right people at just the right time. Jackie, from the Kent Island Healing Ministry certainly appeared to be, God-sent!
This week He continued His incredible directions. Three years ago, on my Walk to Emmaus, I met Laura. In the evening icebreaker intros, Laura and I paired up, shared personal info with one another, then introduced our new friend to the group. At the time, Laura referred to me as her new best friend. If only she had known how desperately, I needed to hear those word! New best friend, I had lost 2 wonderful friends, Karen and Jim that year! Maybe, God had orcastrated this friendship meeting, hum!!!
In the past 3 years Laura and I have seen one another, in fleeing moments of, hi, how are you? Until, recently thank you, God;once again the Emmaus community has reunited our friendship, we are both on team for an up coming weekend.
After learning that Laura shares a common interest and calling for healing, etc ministry, we met for lunch. We spent hours together, getting to know one another; making plans to pray and work, through the Healing Ministry program. You remember the wonderful gift of love from my God-sent friend, Jackie.
Have I prayed for the right person, to begin studying with me, you better believe I have! Is Laura that person, only God knows that for sure; it certainly is exciting to have someone as enthusiastic as I am, to start this study project.
1 Corinthians 2:9-1 However, as it is written: "No eye has seen, no ear has heard, no mind has conceived what God has prepared for those who love Him." but God has revealed it to us by his spirit. The Spirit searches all things, even the deep things of God.

Everything Has Its Time Day 215
Time, the duration of all existence, past, present and future: do we make good use of our time? Absolutely, we are now the generation of multi-taskers! How`s that really working for you? Do you spend quality time with family, friends and God; enjoying a life of peace and joy?
Ecclesiastes 3:1-8 For everything there is a season, and a time for every matter under heaven: a time to be born, and a time to die; a time to plant, and a time to pluck up what is planted; a time to kill, and a time to heal; a time to break down, and a time to build up; a time to weep, and a time to laugh; a time to mourn, and a time to dance; a time to throw away stones, and a time to gather stones together; a time to embrace, and a time to refrain from embracing; a time to seek, and a time to lose; a time to keep, and a time to throw away; a time to tear, and a time to sew; a time to keep silence, and a time to speak; a time to love, and a time to hate; a time for war, and a time for peace.
The Bible sums time up, I remember a song from the sixties, by the Byrds, "Turn, Turn" little did I know where their words originated. Thank you God, for capturing my attention with your words, so many years ago. Music does seem to connect us to our past!
Time, what have I done in the past three months of unemployment? I`ve enjoyed my husband`s company, most of the time; little did I know that he would be off with me, because of his injuries and surgeries. I`m not a great nurse, nor is he a great patient! But we have truly made the best of it. I suppose God knew about Rick`s surgeries while nudging me to leave my Little Debbie job.
Proverbs 19-21 Many are the plans in a man`s heart, but it is the Lord`s purpose that prevails.
Time is such a precious commodity, the older I get the more I appreciate the wisdom of aging. In just 4 short months I will celebrate my 60th birthday, how did I get to be this old? As I approach this mile stone, it comes with the urgency to fulfill God`s purpose for my life. I believe that quality time spent with God in prayer, in the past three months has strengthened and intensified my relationship with Him. Not to mention, what He`s walked me through with this blog.
How is your prayer life? Do you spend private personal time with Him, do you have an intimate relationship with Him, do you know how much He loves you? Do you know that Jesus died on the cross for the forgiveness of "your" sins. Do you know that we have a "loving forgiving" God? Please make time for God!
If you`re reading this you will be in my prayers! I wasted so much time, not knowing GOD! The aging lady has spoken! God Bless!!!!!
1 Thessalonians 1:2-3 We always thank God for all of you, mentioning you in our prayer. We continually remember before our God and Father your work produced by faith your labor prompted by love, and your endurance inspired by hope in our Lord Jesus Christ.
If you are in need of prayer, please feel free to leave as a comment, it would be a blessing to prayer for you by name!

Family Secrets Day 214
Hi, how are you today, just fine thank you! As a society are we really fine, or are we living generations of family secrets, ashamed to hurt or to show our true emotions. Have we become white-washed tombs, with no real desire for truth in our daily lives.
As for me hold the pills, I prefer--John 8:31-32 To the Jew who had believed him, Jesus said, "If you hold to my teaching, you are really my disciples. Then you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free."
Yes, I will agree medications are needed in many cases, I`m just talking about my personal needs, please understand that!
I recently shared my mom-mom`s Bible story, which has lead me to additional thinking and investigating. Oh, did our family have a secret! There are so many unanswered questions and no one alive to ask to fill in the blanks.
My father was serving in World War 2, when my mother gave birth to his first son, Georgie. My mother worked during the day, her mother took care of baby Georgie. The unthinkable happened, as my 40 something year old grandmother took care of him.
He fell down "one step", broke his neck and died instantly, while in the care of his mom-mom. I can not imagine the effects this must have had on my young, 20 something year old mother and her mother. My father never met his first born son.
Through-out their entire lives my mother and father did the best that they could, covering up pain and stashing hurts deep inside, while raising five additional children.
I have only one picture of me and mom-mom, I look to be about 2 years old. Apparently this photo was taken only months before her death, at of young age of 47. According to mom, mom-mom just laid down on the couch one morning and never woke up. They assumed she died from a heart attack, there was no autopsy performed.
It wasn`t until 50 years later that my Aunt Kitty, disclosed the truth about this family disaster, of so many years ago. Georgie, had fallen down an entire flight of steps not just "one step." Had mom-mom thought this secret, would make life easier for everyone.
Did it allow her to feel less guilt, responsibility and shame; or did it actually lead to her early, untimely death? Had my mom held onto unforgiveness and fear all of her life? Had my dad self medicated, away his pain with his addiction to alcohol? Had my mom used food as a crutch, living her life battling obesity?
So many unanswered questions; that may never be answered! I know that this family secret will open my eyes to the truth, as I strive to live in truth, knowing who I am, why I am, the way I am. Georgie's`s death was an accident, no matter what the true details were.
I pray that someday in heaven, to once again be held in mom-mom`s arms, while being introduced to my oldest brother Georgie. Actually, I`m looking forward to a huge family reunion in heaven. God, there`s no rush for this prayer to be answered! Amen.
Don`t get me wrong, I don`t mean that you have to share everything with everybody , but what about the truth within our own families? How many of us, spend our entire life, securely holding onto family secrets, only to take them to our graves. That`s doesn`t allow much inner generational healing, as a society we are all so hurt and broken. Oh I forgot, that`s right you can just pop, the "I`m broken and hurting pill", to relieve your pain and discomfort.
As for me hold the pills, I prefer--John 8:31-32 To the Jew who had believed him, Jesus said, "If you hold to my teaching, you are really my disciples. Then you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free."

Ecclesiastes 3 10-12 I have seen the burden God has laid on men. He has made everything beautiful in its time. He has also set eternity in the hearts of men; yet they cannot fathom what God has done from beginning to end. I know that there is nothing better for men than to be happy and do good while they live

July Mission Trip Day 213
If you have been following this blog, I invite you to go back to July and read posting for Maine Mission Trip Day 100-106, it took me 114 days, or 2736 hours or l64,160 minutes to finish writing this entry! Why, again why? Because, it was done in God`s time, not mine!
I`m assuming, that the mission trip was so overwhelming for me, that God knew that I just wasn`t prepared to share it with the world. Perhaps, back in July, I was just not able to process the magnificence of this astounding journey. Or maybe, as I soaking in early morning prayer today, God gently reminded me, "you never asked for My help." That`s a giant, oops!
Ecclesiastes 8:5-6 Whoever obeys his commands will come to no harm, and the wise heart will know the proper time and procedure. For there is a proper time and procedure for every matter, though a man`s misery weighs heavily upon him.
"You never asked for My help, " dah.... thank you God, for your love and continued patience with this cracked- pot that`s writing Your Blog.
I would like to share my poem that I wrote on our last day of our trip to Kingfield, Maine........... YOU CHURCH PEOPLE
You people left home as a team on a mission,
You people who God teaches what is best for you,
You people filled with joy and peace as you trust Him,
You people who dumped your Love of Jesus on a tiny town,
You people that knew the testing of faith develops perservance,
You people that painted a widow`s house from top to bottom with the face of
JESUS,
You people the righteous and the wise. Knowing what they do and what they
are, is in the hands of God,
You people who sowed stitches of joy,
You people who built a deck that lead to a river of love,
You people who know that there is a time for everything and a season for
everything under heaven,
You people who came as a team, the hand and feet of Jesus, who will return
home as a FAMILY TOUCHED BY THE HANDS OF GOD!
Job 36:10-11 He makes them listen to correction and commands them to repent of their evil. If they obey and serve him, they will spend the rest of their days in prosperity and their years in contentment.
Thank you, God!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!I still, can`t read this poem, without tears of joy and Holy Spirit Goose Bumps......................

Anointing Day 212
As I have mentioned before, I am serving on team for the upcoming Walk to Emmaus. If you are not familiar with this 72 hour weekend to encounter Jesus, please visit online sites, Fly With Christ. org. or just Google it.
In preparation for the weekend, this team of 20 plus women, commits to meeting for 10 weeks prior to the pilgrimage. The Holy Spirit binds this team of Christian women committed in agape love and obedience to God`s call.
As a team, we preview and critique one another talks to be presented on this wonderful Christ filled weekend. Just 3 more Sunday`s, how has this time passed so quickly?
The weekend will also be attended by two pastors, that will presents talks and offer any spiritual assistance that might arise. Today was one of my favorite parts of this incredible journey. Half of our group received special prayers and where anointed in the name of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit, as remaining team members prayed and laid hands on them.
The presents of the Holy Spirit was astounding, many time covering my entire body with Holy Spirit Goose Bumps. I can hardly wait, for my turn next week, to receive this incredible gift.
1 Kings 1:39-40 Zadok the priest took the horn of oil from the sacred tent and anointed Solomon. Then they sounded the trumpet and all the people shouted. "Long live King Solomon!" And all the people went up after him, playing flutes and rejoicing greatly, so that the ground shook with the sound. Amen

Reflections Week 30
The strengthening thread that bonds this past week together was positively friendship, both old and new and family.
Friendship is truly a refection of God`s love shining in and through our lives. A precious gift that is to be treasured, nurtured, and maintained; to have a friend you must be a friend! For a season, a reason or a lifetime; only God knows, His plans for these priceless gifts of friendship and love.
Loosing valued, God-given friends throughout the past decade, has allowed pain and extreme suffering to penetrate my soul, opening this vessel, or cracked-pot, to receive God`s mercy and grace. Job 33:6-7 I am just like you before God; I too have been taken from clay. No fear of me should alarm you, nor should my hand be heavy upon you.
By experiencing suffering through death`s earthly separations, I received my New Best Friend, Jesus Christ!!!!!!!!!
Psalms 88:8 O Lord God Almighty, who is like you? You are mighty, O Lord, and your faithfulness surrounds you. Amen
