Sue and I have lived in the same community for many years, however we did not meet until I opened my Curves franchise in 2003. Curves has come and gone but the friendship between Sue and I is alive and well. Was it a coincidence that Sue and I met, or does God have plans for us?
Was it a coincidence that Sue and I starting attending the same church about the same time? Was it a coincidence that she and I worked on team for Celebrate Recovery? Was it a coincidence that I felt drawn to comfort Sue, when her young friend Ashley was killed in a boating accident? Was it a coincidence that Sue and I went on the mission trip to Maine this summer? Was it a coincidence that Sue and I are reaching out to young girls in our church family? Was it a coincidence that Sue and I shared tears and consoled one another in our holiday funk? Is it a coincidence that Sue is attending our girls-get-away-weekend.
Was it a coincidence that five years ago, I began to pray that God would bring people into my life that would enhance my Christian walk? Of course, it is no co-inky-dink! Maybe, I`m receiving one of my favorite God winks! God has plans for each and everyone of us.
Romans 12:10-13 Be devoted to one another in brotherly love. Honor one another above yourselves. Never be lacking in zeal, but keep your spiritual fervor, serving the LORD. Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, faithful in prayer. Share with God`s people who are in need. Practice hospitality.
I thank God, that he placed Sue in my path. We are both a continuous work in progress; he has brought us together to lean on one another, in this incredible journey called life.
Happy 55th birthday to my God-sent friend, Sue! I look forward to living the plans that God has for this special friendship.
